Many have asked me if the electronic cigarettes is just a fad or a temporary business.  In the last few months I have been getting many new companies asking me to review their products.   There are international companies that are trying to break into the market.   I would think this would show that e cig movement is growing throughout the world.

This past weekend on St. Patricks Day I went to a parade with my daughters in sunny Florida and had a great time.  As I was smoking my V2 Cig at the parade, I noticed some others smoking electronic cigarette.   As I was able to smoke in public without any of the issues with traditional cigarettes, I had a few people ask me what I was smoking.   As I am used to people always amazed of the whole concept of the electronic cigarette.  My daughters are getting used to random people approaching us to figure out how the electronic cigarette works and sometimes even get annoyed about me talking about the benefits of electronic cigarettes.

The cool thing at the parade I wound up seeing another guy smoking an electronic cigarette.   He was vaping away on a Bull Smoke cig and we started talking about electronic cigarettes.   We were laughing on how we both started vaping and stopped smoking traditional cigarettes.  The cool thing was he actually had a Bull Smoke accessory which is called the Bullpen.   Basically it is a portable charger and holds extra cartridges.  This was the first time I have actually seen one of these in person.   He showed me how it worked and how one can be prepared if you need to charge your electronic cigarettes.  Guys this think fits easily in your pocket or purse.  As there were a few thousand people at the parade, I did notice other people smoking e cigs throughout the day.  As I don’t know what the exact sales there are on electronic cigarettes, I am noticing more people vaping. 

Either way, I see more people making the switch and keep on vaping with V2 Cigs, Bull Smoke or whatever your favorite brand you enjoy.

The American Counsel of Science and Health has recently stated in an article that electronic cigarettes did well in their first clinical trial.   The results have shown that smokers have reduced their smoking even if smokers were not looking to quit.   The study supports this is more effective than the other nicotine replacement items to combat smoking.

The study although is a small sample consisting of  forty healthy adults who have no desire of quit smoking.  The smokers were only given electronic cigarettes to use as they please and to continue with their daily habits of smoking.   The participants were encourage to keep smoking regular tobacco cigarettes.  The study would then consist of four follow up visits to monitor the progress of the test subjects.  The results were interesting as 32.5 percent of the candidates after six months reduced their consumption of tobacco cigarettes.  Another 22.5 percent of the participants quit smoking after six months.  Based on these numbers, over half of the subjects reduced their tobacco intake from traditional cigarettes.   These numbers show there has been significant progress made with electronic cigarettes in the war on tobacco cigarettes.

American Counsel of Science and Health advisor, Dr Mike Siegel, professor at Boston University’s School of Public Health stated, “This trial simulated a real-life experience, where no motivation or support was offered to subjects to quit smoking.”  Granted the clinical study was used with small amounts of people, imagine if the subjects were given motivation or support in this study.  The numbers would seem to jump to a larger amount, giving hope to all the smokers looking to give up tobacco cigarettes.

As new studies around the world keep coming to the market, the makers of great brands such as V2 Cigs and Bull Smoke are bound to capture a larger part of the market share.  The e cigs are starting to get even more momentum and people are starting to catch on.   These vapor electronic devices keep getting more information that supports what many e cig users know that these things work and help kick the habit of smoking.   I feel more agencies will eventually see the good characteristics of e cigarettes and more studies will help prove what many of us already know that electronic cigarettes work.

As the electronic cigarette movement becomes increasingly popular in the last few months, the CDC is not fully jumped board on this movement.  As many know the electronic cigarette has revolutionized the tobacco industry.  Many people have found great success in kicking the addictions of smoking using these devices.  Others have not had the same success using the patch or different gums to stop smoking.  Besides the monetary gains of the use of electronic cigarettes, there is the benefit to others in there is no second hand smoke.

As I still wonder why the Center of Disease Control would not be jumping aboard on the e cigarettes, as they emit water vapor and have definite advantages over traditional cigarettes.   The CDC has been looking for other opportunities or avenues where smokers would give up tobacco.   This appears to be right down their alley and I would think they would be extremely happy with this product.  The CDC is claiming there may be a small amount of nicotine in the vapor which has not been confirmed.   Others feel the electronic cigarette may eventually glamorize the smoking of these vapor devices.   Granted there famous people like Charlie Sheen now using the electronic cigarette.  My daughters are not going to pick up electronic cigs just because they see it on television.  I hope they have already learned the dangers of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.  E cigs are already forbidden to be sold to minors, so I don’t really see the validity of that argument.

I think the issue of the CDC may come from a more capitalist issue of not being part of the e smoking movement.  The government has not come up with this product and the private sector has found a huge alternative to tobacco products.   Think of how much money is being spent on cancer and healthcare to fight diseases from tobacco related products.   Maybe the drug companies are not very happy with this alternative either.  Some how I am afraid at some point we need to have a prescription to buy e cigs and then CDC would be happy.   The key I see what happen is that the government is always trying to see how they can monetize a new product.  Some day the government may have their own e cigarette that the CDC will approve.

In the meantime, I say let’s keep sticking with some of the popular brands of e cigs such as Bullsmoke and V2 Cigs.  Let’s keep smoking electronic cigarettes until the government comes out with its own brand.

Now the question is why the U.S Department of Transportation is trying to ban electronic cigarettes on international and domestic flights.   I am in generally very conservative with my views being a single mother with two kids, but sometimes the government has some terrible ideas.   I know I can’t be alone on this way of thinking, but when will we stop with so much legislation without facts.   I know there has been a battle between airlines and users of electronic cigarettes over the years.   The ignorance of the airlines and the Department of Transportation has proposed a law that would include electronic cigarettes with regular tobacco products.

The way the current law is setup prohibits passengers from smoking any form of tobacco products on a commercial plane but does not single out the use of e cigs.  Currently, electronic smoker users should not have a problem or issue in using these marvelous advices.

Most of you  may know that electronic cigarettes do not burn tobacco, but use  a lithium battery to heat up a liquid nicotine solution creating a vapor that can be inhaled directly into the lungs.  By simple definition this does not fall into the definition of tobacco products.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement, ” Airline passengers have rights, and this new rule would enhance passenger comfort and reduce and confusion surrounding the use of electronic cigarettes in flight.”   My answer to the secretary is that education to our airlines and flight crew seems a better alternative, versus infringing on my personal rights.

As I am not one of those radical political moms, but sometimes our government oversteps their boundary.   The government for years did not notify the people of the dangers of traditional cigarettes.   They had no problem taking big tobacco money from lobbyists.   As I know they are contemplating this ban, I wonder if the guys from Philip Morris or other lobbyists are trying to fuel this ban on airlines.

It is our job to write to our legislation and make sure this ban does not happen.  We as electronic cigarette users need to unite and fight these guys.   As I know the top brands such as V2 Cigs, Green Smoke, and new comers like Bull Smoke or trying to combat this legislation, they don’t have the deep pockets of big tobacco.  Let’s hope the little guy can beat these big guys and not get bullied by them.

I have been in electronic cigarette world for some months and it has had a positive effect on my life and family.   As a model in my earlier years, I have been smoking for years thinking I was invincible.  Now that I have been smoking electronic cigarettes, I have seen some improvements in my life.  I am no longer smoking traditional cigarettes as they are in the past for me.  I am grateful for this new odorless device which I have been very involved for the last few months sharing it’s benefits with friends and family.

I am constantly getting e cigarette manufacturers contacting me to review their products.  As this industry keeps growing and technology keeps changing, I am trying my best to inform you guys what I have seen in the industry.   There are the traditional power players as V2 Cigs and Greensmoke which are industry leaders, and there are newcomers like Bull Smoke making a splash.   Being an avid e cigarette user, you start realizing the benefits when you speak or see a traditional smoker.   The second hand smoke of the tobacco cigarette, or you clothes smelling like cigarettes is something of the past.  The ability of smoking indoors versus smoking outside in the Florida heat is something you start appreciating quickly.  The constant savings of spending money on packs of cigarettes, and lighters is always a nice bonus.

I feel that I have finally smoked my last traditional cigarette, I am trying to lead by example with my two daughters that anything is possible.   They have seen me try to kick this habit for years with limited success.  I am ver interested in trying to find out from some of the followers of my blog what has changed in your lives.  I would love for people to send comments on how the electronic cigarette has changed their lives.  It is important that we spread the message of this electronic cigarette, as many people ask me when I am out in restaurants what the device is and how does it work.  If we can more people on board with knowledge, the bigger impact we will have on our families, friends, and the world community.

As Charlie Sheen has been in the news for the last year for his very public meltdown, he is being now recognized as a moving towards the electronic cigarette movement.   I personally have not a been a big fan of his show Two and Half Men which has been popular for many years, but I know many people who love his work on this show.  I always liked him in his earlier movies such as Major League and the slapstick comedy Hotshots.  Charlie Sheen has had a career in which he was the highest paid actor on television at a reportedly two million an episode.   A figure that most of us can only dream about making in a lifetime.

Charlie Sheen does not have to worry about the normal aspects of money issues that most of us have to worry about in our lives.  The last few months Mr. Sheen has been all over the news with his public breakdown and fight with director Chuck Lorre.   We have watched him basically throw away his career in many aspects, but sometimes people do “crazy” things.  It has been noted that he has been seen using e cigarettes recently.  A man that has nothing to worry about the cost of traditional cigarettes changes to the popular e cig.   Is Charlie just being a rebel right now or has he heard of the benefits of smoking the odorless cigarettes?  As he has been trying to concentrating on having a stable environment with his ex-wife Brooke Mueller and his two twins, maybe he has realized that the second hand smoke may be detrimental for his twins.  There are maybe speculations on why he had made the switch.  Unfortunately, I have not recently run into Charlie Sheen in my local mall to ask him.

There has been some speculation that Charlie Sheen is thinking of coming up with his own brand called “NicoSheen.”  As his crazy antics have given him a lot of press this past year, I am not sure if the world is ready to buy e cigarettes from a man that goes on a drug or alcohol binge.   Many say that all press is good, I have to wonder when it comes to something like this.  Do I want somebody that has been unstable being charge of my e cigarette brand?   Meaning will “NicoSheen” be as good as other popular brands such as V2 Cigs and Bull Smoke that have professionals building their product?   I guess we will all see what happens in the near future on his brand.   On the positive side, Charlie Sheen seems to be behaving and is somewhat out of the news for his tirade, but making some positive steps by at least being in the movement of e cigarettes.  Good job Charlie as it seems you are at least doing something right.  Now if you can only go back to making some movies.

The industry of electronic cigarettes keep getting more competitive everyday.  Industry leader V2 Cigs has come out with the universal adapter to shake up the competition.  Many of you know the electronic cigarette produces vapor and not smoke has been gaining steam in the last few years.  The new universal adapter  which now can be purchased allows you to use up to 14 batteries from their top competitors such as rival Green Smoke.  Many consider this a bold move or some people are not understanding why create a device like this.

V2 Cigs producers feel they have a superior product with their flavors, vapors and equipment versus their competitors.  As they will not guarantee the exact same taste or flavor if you have been using their battery, they are confident of their products and flavors.  They have really taken the attitude of giving the consumer many choices in the e cigarette world.  It appears they want to educate the consumer on their products, as well as others in vaping world.  The electronic cigarette industry is moving fast and there are many new players entering the market.

I have not personally ordered this product as I have been smoking V2 Cigs for some time.  I don’t know how it would taste using this adapter with another brand’s battery.   Although I love the concept of putting something like this as this is a low expense to try the V2 Cigs brand.  The question becomes will other brands feel the same confidence to come up with a universal adapter to get others to switch over to their brand.  I am not sure if the other brand giants like Green Smoke, Bull Smoke, Blu Cigs will be doing the same.  It is an interesting marketing move by the innovators of V2 Cigs.

The only issue that people run into using the adapter is when connecting with their current battery from another manufacturer the taste or life may not be the exact same as an original from the V2 Cig factory.  Will the consumer get the exact same taste and life as purchasing a full kit from V2 Cigs.  If anybody has already tried this adapter, please add your comments below as this may be a more cost effective way to move into buying V2 Cig cartridges.

I am not sure what employers or corporations are saying about the electronic cigarettes in the workplace.   There has been some early feedback from companies supporting use of e cigs in the office.   Most corporations have smoke free environments, forcing employees to smoke in other places.   Most public buildings do not offer a place for traditional cigarette smokers to smoke and therefore are forced to smoke outside of their building.  This may be a little frustrating as the climate in some areas is not conducive to smokers with lots of rain or in the regions of snow coming soon.

The first choice of employers is that their employees not smoke cigarettes of any kind.  With the rise of healthcare, the traditional smoker is raising insurance cost in general and employers are taking the hit for this increase.   Some companies are trying to institute wellness plans and helping their employees quit smoking.   As this would be ideal for many employers to have their employees live a healthy lifestyle, companies are recognizing the loss of production due to employee sickness and fatigue.

Employers have noticed that many “chain smokers” are taking way too many breaks throughout the day.  The use of the electronic cigarette allows individuals to vape inside the office.   Thus, the employee is taking less breaks throughout the day.  Many of the top brands of electronic cigs have portable chargers or usb chargers that can be plugged into a computer which is mentioned in my e-cig review site.  Studies show that the average cigarette break is a little over five minutes.   We can additional time to this if you work in a high rise building, as it will take time for elevators.

I have been smoking electronic cigarettes for sometime now, and one of the by products of vaping electronic cigarettes is not needing any more lighters.   As this was an automatic in my purse at all times, it is rather funny not to be carrying one anymore.   I hate to think how much money was spent on this over the years.   I can’t even imagine how many lighters were lost or stolen.  I have also had to give up many lighters when traveling on airplane.  Tightening regulations in the airports with TSA have made traveling with lighters more difficult.

The irony was that this past weekend I went to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a barbecue weekend with my girls before school started this week and I needed a lighter.  Meaning we are at my girlfriend’s house and they just bought a new barbecue set, and we needed a lighter to start the barbecue.   Luckily, most of my friends stayed away from the cigarette habit over the years and had no need to carry a lighter.  Others have decided to recently jump on the band wagon of electronic cigarettes so they did not have a lighter also.  We had to go send the men for ice, wine coolers and a lighter.

As I have been noticing the push for “big” tobacco trying to make it difficult for the e-cig manufacturers with lobbyists in the local government, I wonder if the lighter industry has their own lobbyists or organizations.   As I have never heard of such an organization, this industry is drastically effected by the invention and popularity of electronic cigarettes.   The question that comes to mind is what other industries may have to change their game plan as the vaping industry gains momentum.  What do ashtray companies do now?   Are they behind some of the negative feedback of the e-cig industry with their lighter counterparts?  These industries in thirty years can easily be obsolete if we keep pushing the quit smoking movement.   Right now, I just have to admit spending a few dollars less on lighters is a nice savings in my expenses.  Now if I only can give up buying so many lip glosses from Victoria Secret, I would be doing great.
